about

Alex Index makes his debut on Ruffhouse Industries with the Four Point Five EP, featuring four heavy-hitting originals backed by remixes from Jossy Mitsu and Circuit 900.
The EP is the latest release from the Copenhagen-based producer, whose tracks are a melting pot of syncopated UK funky rhythms, grime-influenced melodies, and warping basslines.

Index’s myriad influences are evident all over ‘Four Point Five’: from the skippy shuffle and processed vocals of ‘Elvish Ways’ and ‘No Connection’; to the lurching, gqom-esque drums of the title track; and the driving club tool ‘Drums For Days’, whose title speaks for itself.

Aside from his regular production output, Alex Index has been representing his city’s club scene with his label INDEXLIFE since 2019 – a label which has acted as a platform for fellow Danes Circuit 900, Gavnlig, and High Graid, as well as appearances from the likes of Akito, Rushmore, and SHE Spells Doom.

Remixes on the release come courtesy of INDEXLIFE affiliates Circuit 900, who make their mark on the title track with a percussive, rolling rework; and an exhilarating interpretation of ‘Elvish Ways’ from Rinse FM resident Jossy Mitsu.

‘Four Point Five’ is the first release of 2021 from Munich-based label and DJ collective Ruffhouse Industries, landing on all digital platforms on 19th February.
