Before we dive into new Ruffhouse joints, we’d first like to point out that this EP is dedicated to Tommi, the guy who always had positive energy. We will remember his outstanding personality forever.

After a short hiatus due to these uncertain times, Ruffhouse Industries is back on track to deliver the much anticipated debut EP „Energia“ by Helsinki’s club music stalwart Koala.

Linked up with Ruffhouse in 2014 through Desto’s Signal Life Radio show, he became a mainstay of Munich’s notorious Club music collective on account of his presence on every Rufftrax compilation up to date.

„Energia“ is all about the dancefloor, although it kicks off with a rather mellow – in relation to the common Ruffhouse standards – track entitled „Laisser“, driven by swinging percussion and an eerie synth reminiscing of a Sci-Fi scenario from outer space.

On „I Came To Steal Your Dancers“, Koala’s intentions of shelling the dancefloor come to light as the track kickstarts into an obviously UK-Funky inspired Club banger equipped with hard hitting vocal chops, drum rolls and a bone rattling low end bassline.

The following title track of the EP represents the essence of Koala’s predilection for marching drums, growling sound effects and clanking percussions. Needless to say that „Energia“ lives up to its name and provides a huge funky factor.

From what started with a massive Ruffhouse crew gathering in an unknown cabin, maybe somewhere in the Transylvanian woods, Koala took the sound files and distilled another veritable banger. “Cabin II” definitely 2 steps into Garage, once again bringing those distinguishing delay drum effects that we love so deeply.

Cakeshop resident and Ruffhouse member Mignon from Seoul put his hands on “Laisser”. His remix provides a subtler approach to the harmonics and percussion while having the vibe on lock.

In order to round up this EP Strict Face steps into the ring. He is pretty well known for his releases on NLV and Local Action. The Aussie redefined “Energia”, and the artist’s name is exactly what you gonna make when you hear this track for the first time. Angry, noisy and distorted sounds are what he assigns to the original.
